CMWC 2025: ADELAIDE WARM-UP WEEK

For the last three decades, the global bike messenger and urban cycling communities have gathered at the Cycle Messenger World Championships (CMWC); an international event that represents the intersection of culture and industry.

CMWC 2025 will take place in Sydney, Australia and is proudly hosted by the Sydney Bicycle Messenger Association (SYDBMA).

SYDNEY

Often mistaken as Australia’s capital, Sydney boasts iconic architecture and stunning beaches. The Opera House, Circular Quay, and Harbour Bridge are all within a 10-minute bike ride.

Over the past decade, Sydney has become more bike-friendly, with paths connecting the city to the suburbs.

The best time to visit? Summer—starting in November, just in time for CMWC 2025. Pack your swimmers and enjoy our beautiful beaches!

Our members are known around the world for their uncompromising riding, their loyalty and vital contributions to global courier/messenger culture.

SYDBMA has created a dedicated committee of 20 core members to produce CMWC 2025. The committee is made up of experienced couriers, messengers and cycling enthusiasts with backgrounds in event management and sponsorship

Competitors must complete a series of manifests by picking up and delivering as many packages as possible between a series of checkpoints.

The Cargo Race will put the world’s best cargo couriers against each other on our Main Race Course.

Beach Day (Bondi Beach)

10:00 AM – Learn to surf (limited spots)
1:00 PM – Surf life saving lock-off

Friday - 14th

9:00 AM – Coffee and breakfast meet-up (Marrickville)
10:00 AM – Group ride to Tempe Recreational Reserve
10:30 AM – 2:00 PM – Sprints and skids (Tempe Recreational Reserve)
2:30 PM – Group ride to Pyrmont
3:30 PM – Open forum (Pyrmont Point Park)
5:30 PM – Alleycat race (Pyrmont Point Park)
10:00 PM – 4:00 AM – Opening party (Cult Nightclub, Bayswater Rd, Kings Cross)

Saturday - 15th

8:30 AM – Boat to Cockatoo Island (departing from Sydney Opera House)
9:30 AM – Arrive on the island
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Dad’s BBQ breakfast / course recon
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Main race qualifications
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Cargo race
6:00 PM – Boat back to the mainland
7:00 PM – Out-of-towners alleycat
9:00 PM – Late – Slow Squad party (venue TBA, Marrickville area)

Sunday - 16th

8:30 AM – Boat to Cockatoo Island (departing from Sydney Opera House)
9:30 AM – Arrive on the island
10:00 AM – Dad’s BBQ breakfast
11:00 AM – Trackstand / footdown
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Main race finals
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Sunset harbour boat cruise party

Monday - 17th

2:00 PM – Barefoot lawn bowls (Marrickville Bowling Club)
5:30 PM – Awards ceremony (Marrickville Bowling Club)
6:30 PM – 10:00 PM – Closing party featuring local bands (Marrickville Bowling Club)
